Well, it was nice while it lasted but yesterday we said a fond farewell to Room 7. However, we were not sad for too long when we got to see our new class. Goodbye room 7...hello Room 24/7!

Maori Language Week
Kia ora.
For Maori Language Week in room 7, we have been practicing asking how we are feeling. Kai pai to everyone for giving this a try.
Try these at home with your family and friends.
"Kei te pehea koe?" --- How are you feeling?
"Kei te koa ahau." --- I am feeling good.

Anzac Day Week
Anzac Day 2015
Welcome back everyone.Room 7 have this week been discussing the upcoming 100th Anniversary of Anzac day. We have been looking on the Internet, reading school journal stories, making our own poppies from paper plates, as well as doing some imaginative writing based imagining what life must have been like in the trenches.
The highlight of the week, however, was when Leo brought in the medals his grandfather had been awarded for his bravery during the North African campaign during the 2nd World War. Room 7 were quite privileged to be able to see these. Many thanks to Leo and his family for letting us look at them.
Solomon from Room 7 has also been very busy this week. In his spare time, he constructed a model of a World War One trench entirely from Lego. Nice job, Solomon.

Race Relations Day
Wow! What an amazing day we had on Friday 20th March for our Annual Race Relations Day. As ever, Room 7 came to the party dressed up in costumes from their culture and what a fantastic display it was. We had representatives from, among others, India, Samoa, Cook Islands, Scotland, Tonga, Maori.
We were also told an old folk tale from Russia, (thanks Valeria), and Isaiah's older sister showed us how to use traditional Maori poi and a game called "Pukana". Thanks to all for your enthusiasm and participation Room 7.

Our responsible and efficient worm food monitors, Isaac, Sammy and Lyric.
Their job is to put the bins out for Puriri Team at morning tea and lunch AND empty into our worm farm as well. Nice job, boys.
